Maxine Gibson is the best friend of Terry McGinnis. She is the smartest person in Terry's High School. Max is a straight "A" student, she is even capable of becoming a valedictorian. When Maxine was running a program on "who Batman was?". She ran a search on height and age. She ran a search on who Jokerz were on her program also. Terry McGinnis turned out to be at the top of the list. When Max was being terrorized by a Jokerz that attended hers and Terry's high school, she found out that Terry was not a Jokerz. However, Batman. From that point they became partners with her assisting Terry on several of his missions as well as deducing that Bruce Wayne was the original Batman and also created a working relationship as him as well as Terry. Although Bruce Wayne doesn't like the ideal of Max helping Terry out with his war on crime, she has proven herself in the past.

Her love for gaming has landed her in a situation that her training in helping Terry out did not prepare her for. A VR mishap set her back to the past, even maybe back to a different timeline in general as she become aware with having spotted the legend amogst those who were beside the original Bat. Following him for a bit and later run into him, Max is forced to not only accept that she might be stuck in the past for awhile. But she'll be forced to use some skills that might not work as well as it would for anyone else that she would run into during this time. Trying to make the best of the situation as her love for computers and gadgets, she's enjoys the joy of small handle retro gaming systems that she is able to tinker with and modified to suit her needs in making notes on Dick Grayson to later rub into Terry's face when she makes it back home. For now, she most get some funds together, find a place to stay, avoid having to enter the local high school, make some legit looking papers that need to past under the eyes for not only the law, but the original Bat, and now Dick Grayson. Getting back to NeoGotham might be a challenge, but one that she can take her time to work on as she thinks about setting up shop in the past to fund her needs while she's stuck and get a nice nest egg together to fund any university she wishes when she makes it back.
