Bio: Israel, named after his father, and his father before him, and so on, bears a proud name, a very revered name in his tribe. This tribe, located deep in the desert, beyond that of human travel (by foot atleast) and cloaked to match the desert surrounding, has been long standing, many years, many decades, centuries even. Every year, this proud desert nation is allotted one rainy week, enough to keep the many desert plants and fruits they grow very well irrigated.
The only catch to this rain is it requires a sacrifice, that of a whole family, the end of an entire bloodline. This is done so in close relation to that of the book "The Lottery", in which a representative from each family is given a slip of paper, and the family with the black dot written into the paper is chosen, and they are burned alive before the statue of their God, the one that provides them the necessary rain to survive another year. This is a small sacrifice in relation to the rest of the tribe, which stands 7,000 strong, and grows very steadily as time passes.
Well one fateful year, the very black dot that has condemned many a soul to the sacrificial pit fell into the very hands of Israel himself, and there was many cheering, while Israel and his family fell silent. They returned home to enjoy their last day together, and in the dead of night Israel's father and a close friend stole him away into the night, into the vast desert before him, all the while being tracked and chased down by the very men who desired to end their lives.
Upon the third day of their fugitive status, they were finally captured, and Israel watched painfully as his father and the family friend were burned alive, while he was cast into the desert, his captors laughing at the thought of this 14 year old child surviving the harsh terrain, and the unforgiving heat.
So Israel roamed... days, weeks on end, surviving off whatever desert creature and whatever unturned rock he could manage to find, until fate got the better of him, and collapsed in a heap. With his last words, he uttered a prayer to the God he was so doomed to be sacrificed for, when in the dead of night, a burst of flame and a whirlwind of sand kicked up, and before Israel stood a man, dawned in a long, flowing cape, his eyes covered save for his red irises, which seemed to burn a hole in Israel's very soul. He moved to his knees quickly before this deity, and begged for help, a pitiful sight as he knelt there, hunched before, what he believed to be, his God.
With an evil laugh, the man spoke in a language unheard of to Israel, but oddly enough, he was able to understand. The being before him offered him salvation in exchange for whatever the being desired, and Israel quickly accepted. Upon uttering these words of agreement, a sharp, twisting pain in his chest, and he gasped, and spat blood, as the being reached into Israels chest, and ripped his heart out before his eyes.
The rabbit slumped over on his side, quite sure in his last conscious moments that he was doomed, when the being leaned over, and placed his finger to the rabbits forehead, followed by a sharp, bright burst of red light, the being was gone, fusing itself within Israel, who could no longer feel his heart beat, and felt... cold at first, and then nothing, no pain, just nothingness. Israel sat up and looked down at the hole in his chest, eyes widening as he watched granules of sand rush hastily from the ground around him, and clog the hole in his chest... and become him, running his fingers through the new fur that adorned over his chest, feeling no heartbeat.
The rabbit came to realize as days went by that he had changed, he had acquired powers unknown to him before. Every cut, every scar, scrape or gash had been healed, over time at first, but with every new injury, the healing process became faster. He wandered that desert for years, 6 years exactly, with no thirst and no hunger, no exhaustion and no need for rest. He could change his limbs into that of sand, giving him no limits to where he could go or what he could do. As he finally neared the end of his long journey, Israel came upon a cape, wrapped around a hidden wrist-blade that had a hollowed out blade. As he unwrapped them and dawned them a voice called out to him, "I have delivered you from this place of treachery and woe, and in return you must harvest souls in my stead, while this demon resides within you, you will feel no pain, nor no sorrow, nor will you parish, until your work is finished".
So with that, Israel set about his duty, and harvest many, many souls for the demon, and over the few years he became disgusted with himself, and subdued the demon within him, turning the power he had been granted against the very one who granted him with them.
Over time, Israel met a feline named Gene, who led him to this tub, where he resides now.
