Brandubh is pronounced "BRAWN-doov", but if you can't remember that, call him Brandy.
The raven that stands before you has a body that is long and lithe, much like that of a model. The shoulders are narrow, the torso, long, flaring faintly at the hips before tapering into long, slender thighs. Feathering stops at the calf, and the raven's legs from there on out are thin, darkest grey scaly skin covering the shins and feet. His toes are long, tipped with dulled black claws, and a loose silver anklet rests on one foot, generally hitched on a dewclaw. His arms are heavily feathered, starting at just above the elbow. On his left shoulder there is an armband; a curving panel of silver openwork in celtic design, tied from each side with a braid of brown leather. His hands are almost completely covered by his feathers, but his fingers and palms do not have feathers, and are more like his feet. Short, trimmed claws tip each of them (there are but three), and several of the digits have silver rings (if you can see them).
The raven's neck looks a bit thicker than it is, covered by smooth feathering. There rests a silver torque, the ends buried in feathers, with a blue gem in the center, and knotwork etched into the metal. His beak is black and somewhat glossy, pointing gently downwards with an arch in the top. A few stray feathers splay where it joins to his face. His eyes are black and twinkling, lined with long, thin lashes. His eyelids are, of course, devoid of feathers, and show a burgundy sheen at the inner corner, and emerald green on the lid, when light strikes it.
Brandy's 'hair' is more like a fine hackle (like that of a rooster). It curves over one eye and stops an inch or so past his cheek on the right. The rest of it is swept neatly back into a thick four part braid that is bound at the end with a black tie, and ends past his shoulders. His gathered tailhas one feather that has been artfully notched and cut swallow-style.
All of his feathers are highly iridescent, showing that he is healthy and hale. Rich greens, deep maroons, and inky blues show on his feathered body and hair when he turns this way or that, the iridescence only dulling a bit at the ends of his braid.
If anything, he wears only a very low-slung pair of hip-exposing, non tail-interfering grey or brown pants that stop at his calves, sometimes belted. Beneath that, though, his feathers cover him.
Of course, this leaves out the naughty bits and personality, but that's rather personal, no? Let's just say he's quiet but not shy, loves a good beer and laughter, and might have a bit of magpie syndrome. The rest needs be discovered.
