What is a -living gemstone-?
A humanoid species made of literal gemstone. When contained inside its body the gemstone's gem-flesh is flexible as any other species. as soon as it 'breaks' it turns hard as the gemstone it represents. The entire thing has a 'heart' that is a gemstone somewhere on their frame. This gem is their sense of self, memory, and powers.
The gemstones themselves are stronger based off the gem itself. Some have special abilities, others have enhanced physical abilities. The body of a living gemstone can heal like many other species, but in their case it is like slow regeneration unless their gemstone is attached to the wounded area (Which then immediately uses raw ruby as a base material to heal instantly.)
