Alena has the coloring of a normal red panda.
Alena is a 22-year-old red panda. She stands an average 5'6" and possesses an equally average, yet hourglass-esque frame. Her hair is elegantly long and wavy, and is a vivid blond, typical of those within the Adelheid royal bloodline. Her eyes are a bright emerald, just like her mother's, and her fur pattern is typical of a red panda; although she does have unique markings upon her forepaws. From her fingers to her elbows, she is adorned in white fur, giving the illusion of elbow-length gloves -- although, of course, she's usually wearing those, anyway.
Personality:
Extremely personable and talented with words. Her studies within divine arcana and her position as a princess within the empire has led her to possess amazing leadership skills and become very maternal, as well as protective of those close to her. She speaks her mind maturely and calmly, and is rarely perturbed or caught off-balance. Alena has a bit of a weakness to men, which is ironic, because of her incredibly close bond with her younger brother.
Alena represents the virtue of Temperance, holding close to her heart the values of restraint and justice. Temperance upholds the constant mindfulness of others and one's surroundings; practicing self-control, abstention, moderation, zero-sum and deferred gratification, as well as prudence to judge between actions with regard to appropriate actions at a given time. Alena maintains proper moderation between self-interest, versus public-interest, and against the rights and needs of others.
History:
As the first child of King Lero and Queen Adelicia, Alena's birth prompted a kingdom-wide celebration. A daughter meant that the royal couple had an heir to the throne, and due to the matriarchal government, a female heir is exactly what the couple were hoping for.
Soon after turning five, Lero and Adelicia had a second child: a baby boy whom they named Taryn. The young Alena was enthralled by her younger brother, but unfortunately, was unable to spend much time with him. At the age of six, Alena was sent to the Orlinas Monastery to be trained in the art of holy magic, which was a gift possessed by the females within the royal bloodline. Doing so meant that she had to study and live in complete seclusion until she had become a priestess, however -- a requirement for eventually inheriting the throne.
Fourteen years later, the Princess had finally completed her training, and had obtained the title of High Priestess. Incredibly talented with divine protective and healing magic, Alena also had the ability to manipulate air somewhat, which was more than likely a gift from her father.
Finally returning home after over a decade of near-isolation, something didn't seem quite right upon returning to the castle. Her father was bed-ridden, barely able to speak and seemingly unable to even recognize his own daughter... Her mother... cold, sharp, and stern... completely unlike the mother Alena remembered from her youth; and Taryn? He was no where to be found. No one even seemed to know of his existence in the first place.
Convinced that something was severely amiss, and perhaps even evil, Alena has decided to leave the castle, forgoing her duties as a Princess in order to find out what had happened during her time within the monastery. Hoping to discover the truth behind the mask of her "mother" and her brother's disappearance, she has devoted all of her energy to uncovering the truth...
